Mini Scrapbook for Finley Kay

I took an ordinary Dollar General brag book (I believe cost $1.) and turned it into a mini scrapbook for a young couple that just had their first baby.

I cut the covers off and separated each of the pages. The album is attached using 1" bind-it-all wires. Here are a few of the pages. Most of the pages were made using the Simple Stories Hello Baby paper pad (got from Hobby Lobby). I wrote the title on the front cover and the flowers are from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (pg. 147 Stampin' Up's AC). Retired Stampin' Up ribbon is tied on the wire binding.

The paper pack made the pages happen pretty easily, since they are printed to tell exactly what you want them to say.

 Each month has a design similar to the one below that they can easily fill in the information and add a photo below the information.

 I had extra pages besides the 12 months to include some holidays where I thought the couple might be dressing Finley up and could capture a photo moment. Halloween is below. Adding a little journaling spot at the top and a 4 x 6 photo would go below.

 I used Stampin' Up's Balloon Celebration stamp set (pg. 84 AC) and coordinating punch to decorate the 1st birthday page.

This album went together pretty quickly so will plan to make more of them for other new babies in the area.

Daisy Punch

The Daisy Delight Bundle (pg 127 in the AC, annual Stampin' Up catalog) makes a really quick and easy card. In this card I used the coordinating daisy punch to make a sunflower. I have three punched daisy layers stacked on top of each other, off setting the petals. I sponged the center of each of the daisy punched layers and then finished the center with a stamp from the Daisy Delight stamp set. I used a 1/2 inch circle punch to punch out the stamped center image. I curved the petals using a bone folder to give a little dimension. The flower is covered with Wink a stella (pg 200 AC) for a nice little sparkle. Behind the sunflower, I used the linen thread (pg 199 AC) and a 1 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of the Color Theory Designer Series Paper stack (pg. 147 AC), Dapper denim going across the white card base. I used Dapper Denim ink to add the sentiment which is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (pg. 147 AC). The Glitter Enamel Dots (pg 196 AC) are added as extra embellishment.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

It seems like I do a lot of searching on Internet for card ideas and when I find something I like, I save the image to a folder. This month I'm going to share some of the cards that I have found. In a nice way I CASE (Copy and Share Everything) cards and will do my best to give credit to where I found the card/project/idea. The following card idea was from Lisa Curcio.

This Happy Birthday Gorgeous card is a very simple card to make. Cut the Happy Birthday thinlit die four times in white. Before cutting the fifth time, I used daubers to color a piece of white card stock with whatever colors you would like. I used Emerald Envy, Peekabook Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, and Dapper Denim. Cut the colorful piece with the thinlit too. Cut the two words apart on all pieces. The rest is just glueing the pieces on the white card stock base. After making the first card, I didn't want the other pieces to go to waste so I used them too.

Challenge for July

Flower Shop Block card

I had a dear friend send me a card this past week so I used her idea of the block card and changed the dimensions a little to get the card to fit in a regular A2 envelope. Here are a few pictures of what I came up with.

Stamping at my house on Sat., July 19

It was a fun day catching up with friends and of course stamping. Here are images of what we made for those of you that couldn't make it. The first two cards we used the Hostess Stamp set Bloom With Hope found on page 240 of the new catalog. With order totals, free merchandise was earned so I decided to purchase the hostess set and draw a name from those that attended. BJ's name was drawn so I will be giving the Hostess set of Bloom With Hope to her when the order arrives.

This is a 3 x 3 inch gift card and each made a matching envelope using the envelope punch board.

Here are two versions of the cell phone card. The measurements include 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 for the black background, white card base is 3 1/4 x 10 1/2 folded in half at 5 1/4, starting from the top: 1/8" circle punch (could use the owl builder punch little circles), old Stampin' Up punch that measures 1/8" x 1/2", center black piece 2 3/4 x 4", 1/2" black circle, and a 1/4" square little white piece. The Stampin' Up heart punch was used along with the Just Sayin' stamp set and coordinating die cuts. I used the new blendabilities markers to color in the word bubbles on the first card.

This next card is a type of slider or pop up card. You can find the directions and a video on splitcoaststampers.com and search for Surprise Pop Up Card. The only difference is we placed a pocket on the front of the slider tag so when the person pulls the slider tag they will find a gift card or money gift on the inside (or motel key??). We used the Perfect Blend stamp set.

This next card is also a gift card holder, but the ladies decided to just make it into a card. Some used the blendabilities markers to color in the flowers from the Flower Shop stamp set like I have shown, while others just stamped and punched colored card stock for the flowers. Enjoyed the stamping day with friends and the snacks and cherry pie were delicious. I'll look forward to doing it again soon!
