Echoes of Kindness 2

Here's another version using a different flower from the Echoes of Kindness stamp set. I'm having to keep cards very simple because of the amount of time I've had to stamp. Between the hayfield and getting Levi's t-shirt quilt finished, I've been keeping busy. I'll have to post the quilt top of Levi's t-shirt. Maybe tomorrow?!?

Echoes of Kindness

This card will fit in a standard small envelope measuring 6 1/4 x 3 1/2. I needed to keep it very simple to save time. I used my aqua painter brush and watercolor crayons to color in the flowers. I rub the aqua painter brush directly onto the crayon to pick up the color and then color in the image. I scalloped the edge to reveal old olive paper behind. I might add a little glitter on the flowers :) Quick and easy, but looks nice.

Lemonade card

Here is another card I've always been meaning to make so I finally did. The lemonade glass is made out of vellum and I used tombow glue to hold to the card in a rounded dimension. I'm not sure how you would be able to put this card in an envelope because of the dimension. I guess this card would have to be a hand-delivered card. I sponged yellow ink on the back of the vellum before adhering. The lemons were made using the Tart and Tangy stamp set and Crystal effects added for shine. I attached two lemon pieces using dimensionals on the inside the glass. I had to trim the stray a little and attached it with mini glue dots. It turned out like I had hoped and really wasn't a difficult card to make.

Flip Flop card #2

I really had fun with the flip flop template so I had to make another. My kids even thought the card was pretty cute. I asked my son what color of flip flops to make and he said, "blue." So here is my version of blue flip flops. I added the stitch marks around the edge since the ribbon has the stitch marks. I thought it made the flip flops pop out a little more on the card background. The embellishment at the toe is a flower punched from white cardstock and edged with olive green. I added Crystal effects and glitter to make them sparkle. I attached the flower with a blue brad. The words were from another Creative Memories digital scrapbooking package that I printed off using my computer. The hayfield has been keeping me rather busy the last few days. We can finally get in the fields and we've been using every available minute we can to get the hay put up. Looks like another hay day so I had better get going.

Flip Flop Card

Yesterday I mentioned the flip flop template that I just had to try. I did alter the pattern a little by moving the toe hole more to the center to make it look more realistic. The original .pdf file pattern has the toe hole more toward the top. Anyway, I used the Pretties Kit flowers and brads for the toe hole and brayered the background, speckled a little using the Itty Bitty background stamp set, and sponged a few spots to look like sand. I've been getting into doing digital scrapbooking so I've purchased several online packages from Creative Memories so the words were printed from one of the packages from my computer. I think I will try another flip flop card because they are so cute.

Upsy Daisy

One more Upsy Daisy card. I promise I'll have a different stamp set for tomorrow's card. I stamped the silhouette using pink and then used a watercolor pencil to draw the brown stems over the pink. I also added Crystal Effects and a touch of glitter on the flower parts. The card really sparkles.
My husband left this morning at 5:30 a.m. so instead of going back to bed like I should have, I spent a few hours looking on Internet. Here are a couple things I found. First I'd like to share with you a blog I came across dealing with creating your own envelopes. I thought I'd reference it here on my blog so that I would be able to find the information too at a later date.
and here is a cute template for a flip-flop card I can't wait to try
Scroll down 8 posts to Latenight stamper...she has posted the file.
I have bookmarked several different stamping blogs so I'll have lots of inspiration at my fingertips. It was fun spending some time search the web, but I'm afraid I'll be searching for a nap later today :o)

Upsy Daisy

You can probably tell that I really like the Upsy Daisy Stamp set because here is another card using the set. I'm sure there will be more cards to be made with this set. I'm not sure if you can see the dry embossing at the top and bottom of the card. It does add a little more detail to the card. I also added paper piercing around the image and used the word punch with eyelets for a little contrast.

Upsy Daisy

Here is a very simple card. I masked the card leaving the oval shape open and brayered a background of pink and blues. Once again, I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set from Stampin Up to silhouette the image. Then using versamark, I covered the entire oval area exposed and applied Iridescent Ice to the oval. It really made it sparkle! It's a card that could be used for any occasion.

Flower Pot Card

This was a fun card to make. I had seen different versions so decided to try it myself. I used the Big Shot die cuts for the flowers and added a textured background to the flower pot. I brayered a little color over the textured background to make the pattern pop on the flower pot. If you haven't seen this card before, the flower portion pulls out of the flower pot to reveal your message. This card took a little extra time, but it was worth it.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Here is the card I made for my mom for her birthday. Thanks again to Michelle Zindorf for the inspiration. I'm still practicing the brayered background. I've been using the Upsy Daisy stamp set from Stampin Up a lot lately. The silhouette image is quick and easy. The mountains were masked with a post it note and I used a sponge using Brocade Blue. Very basic card, but I think Mom will like it.

Embrace Life Stamp Set

Here's a card I made using the Embrace Life set and flowers from the Pretties Kit. On the right side, I've added a lattice scoring design just to give it a little extra something.

Upsy Daisy Stamp Set

Here is another great silhouette stamp set. I brayered the background and used the Big Shot die cutting machine to cut out the background and the daisy. Hey, Phyllis, this card is for you. Have a great 4th of July and a great week!
