Spiritual Mini Scrapbook

Here are the pages to the spiritual mini scrapbook that I'm working on. I've used a few new items from the Stampin' Up Spring Mini Catalog . . .
Here's a list of the items I incorporated that you can find in the Spring Mini Catalog that will be starting January 3, 2013.
Artisan Embellishment Kit pg. 10
Hearts a Flutter Bundle pg. 11
Stampin' Emboss Powder Pool Party pg. 12
. . . the corners on the last picture are using the stamp set and punch that will be available through Sale-a-bration starting later in January.

There are other items that I will be adding to the covers, but I will wait to share them once I get the covers finished.

I'll continue to work on the covers and then bind it and show you the final product. Similar mini scrapbooks like these were a hit at the craft show this year.  I read the first mini I made (has the same Bible verses and sayings in it) quite a few times during the busy weeks before Christmas to lift me up and make me realize that I can get through anything with the help of God.

I've had a few people ask, if I would teach them how to make one. If you are interested, just email me (dexterjane82@gmail.com) and I will see if there is enough interest and then will find a time to get together.

Beaded Necklaces

I'm afraid to say it, but I've found another passion, beading. I bought some supplies to start making charms for my mini scrapbook albums and decided to try actually making a necklace. The first necklace took me three hours, but the second one only took me 1 hour 20 minutes. I'm getting better, I think. I do plan to actually wear these necklaces.
The little heart says, "Made With Love." Even took a stab at some earrings. I thought the buttons looked cute.

Happy Holidays!

Just a quick post to let everyone know that I'm still around. I enjoyed Christmas and am looking forward to the new year. I hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy family and friends this holiday season.

If you haven't played Bananagrams, it's one of my favorite games. It hasn't left the kitchen table yet this holiday season. Every night we've gathered around the table and played.
I've been cleaning up my craft area and will be ready for some new projects to be coming soon. Anyone interested in making a mini album? I'll be putting together one and posting some pictures. There are some really cool supplies that will be available in the upcoming Spring Catalog that I plan to incorporate into this new mini album. I can hardly wait!

Here is a money tree I've made for a gift this year. Saw the idea on Pinterest. I had to add some charms to the front. I enjoy making the beaded charms. Tomorrow I'll share some other beading that I've done over the Christmas break.

Tealight Card

Merry Christmas everyone!

The Hands of Hope Preschool here in Chambers held their Christmas program at my church this past week and I am on the Board of Education so I made each of the kids and the teacher a little keepsake card. We only have two students so it wasn't like I had to make a whole bunch. I'd seen the tealight cards before and knew it would be perfect for a little manger scene. I did put a little wood looking sign in the upper left corner that said "Jesus Loves (Name of Student)". The baby Jesus stamp set is an old one, but a good one, called Miracle of Christmas. The coordination early espresso cardstock with the sanded wood grain embossing worked perfect for the suppose to look like beams. The program was fantastic and the little girls seemed to enjoy the cards.

I hope to get into my craft room this weekend. It is such a busy time of the year. My family is getting together at a motel this next weekend so I need to get ready to celebrate Christmas with them.

I do want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas filled with family, friends, and Jesus in your heart.

Craft Show 2012

What a great day! The craft show was a huge success. I had 17 vendors and everyone said they had a great day. God blessed us with fantastic weather and all the extra activities that the town had scheduled brought a wonderful crowd to town. Here are a few pictures of my table, if you are interested. My big sellers were the FAMILY frame, many different cards, snowmen made from the mini milk carton (were in my last post), and the mini scrapbooks.
I did have a lot of chuckles with the "Husband's Survival Kit." I put a Valentine's Day, Anniversary, Birthday, and a Just because card into a packet with directions enclosed. The gal purchases the "Husband's Survival Kit" and gives to her guy so that he has the four cards to give to her on those special occasions. I made 10 packs and sold 4 of them. It was a great conversation piece. I'm exhausted and really have no desire to even look at a craft right now. I do have a few orders to fill so I will get myself motivated to get those finished and be able to enjoy the holidays. It's been a busy time preparing, but it really was a fun day.

Mini Milk Carton Snowmen

Since I made Frankenstein with the mini milk carton, I decided to see how it would look to make a mini milk carton into a snowman. I have single snowmen, a caddy for two, and a caddy for four snowmen.
I left the bottoms of the snowmen open so candy can be added later. These guys will be on my craft table next Saturday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have twelve minutes to still get in on wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a chance to spend some time with family or friends for Thanksgiving or over the holiday season sometime. I am truly thankful for the many blessings that God has given me.

Wood grain embossing folder

As I was rummaging through some of my sample cards, I came across this door with wreath card. It has the wood grain background stamp, but I'm going to try it with the wood grain embossing folder. I read on another blog that you can run a piece of vellum through the Big Shot along with the wood grain embossing folder and this will help eliminate the deep impression that the embossing folder tends to make.

Explosion Photo Box

Here is a craft item that I'm going to make for the craft show that is coming up quickly, Saturday, Dec. 1. I found this idea on the Internet and got to thinking how this would be a fun activity to do for my family. You know how after all the presents have been opened, the tree looks so empty underneath. I'm going to start making an explosion photo box each year and it can remain under the tree after all the gifts are gone. It will be fun to take pictures, have everyone add some journaling or thoughts, put them in the explosion photo box, and then look at them the next year and years to come after that. Maybe you would like to try this too. If you need instructions, just email me. It really is a fast and fun activity. This photo box has just the bare minimum for decorations. The decorating of the box and pages would be endless.

Keepsake Ornaments

Here's an old card that I made quite a while ago, but decided to exchange the ornament punch with the new Keepsake Ornaments.
I used Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, and Garden Green for the inks. I love how the new ink pads make such a solid stamped image.

Keepsake Ornaments

Here's a sample card made a while ago using a retired hostess stamp set, Peaceful Season. I love the script text that is in this set. I plan to switch out the ornament and use one of the Keepsake Ornaments.

Bells & Boughs and Word Play

I put together a couple cards this evening since I am getting together with the ladies in Chambers tomorrow afternoon. Everyone is bringing something to work on which should give them a chance to use some of the products they've been purchasing through the stamp club. I'll have some ideas, the Big Shot, and other products to share so that way everyone can go home with some homemade cards. It will be fun to see what everyone is working on. Here's a chance for the ladies to dedicate a couple hours for stamping. I'm guessing I'll see maybe a Thanksgiving card or some Christmas cards get made. Here's the couple projects I'm bringing . . .
This first card is using the Bells & Boughs stamp set. Using a ruler, the squiggly lines are just drawn on using Early Espresso marker. Markers were also used to color in the holly and berries. Crystal effects and dazzling diamonds glitter were added to the berries. Next time I'm going to use red glitter.
This card uses the Word Play stamp set. First I cut the oval using the oval die, lined it up and ran it through the Big Shot again using the oval embossing folder. I stamped the words on a separate sheet of white card stock and then punched it out using the extra large oval punch and attached it to the center of the embossed oval. If you have any questions, just email me and I would be glad to explain anything else.

Spiritual Card

I needed a super fast card one Sunday for a baptism that was going to take place at church. Here's the card I made . . .
I used vanilla cardstock, the oval embossing folder, and the string of pearls for the cross. I did stamp a cross and text from the Trust God stamp set in the inside.

Toilet Roll Mini 3

This was my final toilet roll mini that I made over the weekend. I know it won't be my last. The next one, I'm going to time myself and see how long it takes for me to make one. I need to come up with a price to charge for the individuals that wanted to buy one and to sell at the craft show. What would you give for a mini like these? I'd appreciate any suggestions.
